greendoor3The Green Smoothie Challenge is going really good. Green smoothies, I think, are the door to raw living. It is so easy to eat healthier when I have had that one drink for breakfast, as a snack, or an appetizer before dinner. I have had AT LEAST one green smoothie everyday, which is just the push I needed to stop eating so much rice and… CHOCOLATE!

I have a confession to make. I am addicted to chocolate, and have been my whole life. This is not going to be easy, I can hardly type the words, but I need to stop. My ritual every night is to have a warm herbal tea and some chocolate. Dark chocolate, the darker the better. There. I said it. Now I must follow through! I will start now. No chocolate tonight :(

On another note, remember that job interview I had? Well I finally decided to take it if the job was offered. And they didn’t offer it to me. SOOO, on to new adventures! I am now shifting my energy towards designing ebooks (need your Word document formatted to a fancy PDF?) and this blog. Blogging is a brand new thing for me, as I never really liked writing. But I love the journaling qualities of it. It’s like a massive email to the world (or only the three people who will actually read this, ha ha!). BTW, I would LOVE some feedback, as I find it very helpful in my process of learning.

I am contemplating taking a raw food un-cooking class. Specifically the Living on Live Food Level 1 & 2 classes, a certification course under Alissa Cohen. She has set up a system so that people can become certified and then teach others. I would love to learn more about educating others of the raw lifestyle, I just don’t know if I am cut out for teaching. The class cost is an investment, and I need to make sure it is one I will follow through on. I can teach through Raw Living via video, but holding classes at my little apartment just doesn’t seem feasible.

I would love to know what you think, but hurry! The class is this Thursday and I need to sign up before then.

    You actually inspired me to look into training. Your new green smoothie party sounds fantastic, but I don’t have the place/skills/appliances to hold one. I have to sign up today for the class and I still don’t know. Mainly it is the cost. I need to get a high-powered blender and I am on a budget now. I just can’t justify the cost yet, not knowing if I will be able to successfully hold classes in the future. I will keep you posted on what I decide ;)

    Hi! There are other classes that you can take that are less expensive. There is one in PA near where I live. http://www.lovinglifecafe.com/new/ The teacher of the class is an incredible woman and a good friend of mine. She has no dates, but works around your schedule. If you decide to go, let her know I sent you ;) I copied this from her site:

    “3 days “Hands On” Certification Class is available

    Raw Foods – Beyond the Recipes!!!

    2 Days “Hands On”

    $500.00 per person plus food costs.

    All living foods will be served for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    Learning how to do something from a book is possible, but nothing matches hands on experience to help save time and money!!!

    Therefore, I invite you to join me for a 2 day class on raw foods preparation.

    Here’s what’s in store for you:

    Learn the basics involved in raw foods preparation: the ingredients, the techniques, the equipment;

    Learn fantastic foundational recipes that you can use to make many foods you already know and like such as pasta, pizza, lasagna, tacos, “chicken” salad, and yes, chocolate!!!;

    Learn how to improvise to convert cooked foods into raw ones;

    Understanding how to pull it all together – what your raw lunches, breakfasts, and dinners can be; how to schedule your cooking around your lifestyle; and have things available to be eaten when you want them.

    Go from being a complete beginner to a raw foods chef!!!

    I look forward to assisting you in this journey – please contact me at: love AT lovinglifecafe DOT com ”

    Amanda, I also wanted to mention that I may need you for a few business things that I am doing. I will let you know as it gets closer to time and I am more prepared. Your work is fantastic and right up my alley. BTW I love your blog!
